Father Benjamin writes...

Welcome to the Parish of Holy Family

Holy Family is a Roman Catholic Parish of the Diocese of Portsmouth serving the Millbrook area of Southampton. We exist to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ as we proudly profess our Catholic faith.

Feast of the Annunciation of Our Lord

Please note that the Solemnity of the Annunciation is transferred to 8th April (Monday), because its usual date falls in Holy Week this year. There will be an additional Mass on this day at 9.15 a.m. (in Extraordinary Form, Latin).

Fundraising for our church

There are various parts of our Church which are presently in need of repair, which sadly costs money.  We are looking at quotes for repairs to the Church roof and upgrades to the heating systems in the Church and Hall. A simple way to raise some funds is through Gift Aid. If you are a taxpayer and eligible, please complete a Gift Aid form so we can reclaim the tax you have paid on your donations to the Parish.

If you pay UK tax and sign a Gift Aid form, we can claim back from the government 25p for every £1 you donate to the Church at no extra cost to you. This can make a big difference to the Parish income.

Church Heating

We now have quotes for the upgrade to the Church and Hall boiler/heating systems. Our fundraising target is £25,000 for a upgrade of the two. Unfortunately, the church boiler cannot be repaired so our most urgent need is to replace this so as to have heating in the winter. This will be approximately £5000. Please support the fundraising initiatives so we can achieve this as soon as possible.

Eucharistic Adoration: One Hour For Jesus

Blessed Sacrament Exposed.jpg

We are, as ever, grateful to Our Blessed Lord’s faithful Adorers for keeping the watch during the Christmas period. Our Parish is showered with blessings from this devotion.

We are still in great need of permanent adorers.

Welcoming the Holy Family Statue in your home

Fr Benjamin blessed the statue of The Holy Family on Friday 19th January after the 9.15 am Mass, the anniversary of the dedication of the Holy Family Parish. The intention is for the first family to welcome the Holy Family statue into their home for one week and to then take the statue to the next family where the two households can pray together, strengthening the prayerful connection between our families and making us holier families under the guidance and protection of The Holy Family. A daily prayer sheet will be included with the statue.

If you would like welcome The Holy Family into your home for one week, please sign up on the sheet at the back of the Church or contact the office. The list will be in the office during the week so as to protect people’s details.
